In any competitive economy, retrenchment can be described as corporate strategy in order for businessess to sustain in the difficult periods. Either because of restructuring due to economic downturn, technological change, acquisition or merger of the economy, the fact remains that retrenchment has directs impact to both the employees as well as the employers. HRDF Outplacement Centre is an initiative to enhance the employability of Malaysian retrenched workers. Under the initiative, Malaysian workers that were retrenched will be equipped with the required additional industrial skills or qualifications to enable them to be re-employed or to venture into self-sufficient business activities that may continuosly support their well-being after the loss of employment.
